Weapon Descriptions
(Names, details, and descriptions of 10 weapons in spreadsheet format)

As a writing prompt for the game writing group I run, I borrowed this game writing exercise from @DeathMeetAuthor’s Twitter thread. In short, the exercise was to write 10 “sword” (or other item) descriptions using a max of 20 words each and no repeated descriptors.

I decided to do “spellguns” as my weapons, imagining them as belonging to the same fantasy/Western action-RPG world that I used for my Pioneer of Nowhere sample. I wanted to have a good variety of weapon types that would fit the setting, and to include some unique worldbuilding details such as references to in-universe factions, people, or resources. To format the descriptions, I created a Google Sheets document with columns for weapon name, type, rarity (one star for basic gear, five stars for rare exotics), and description. You can view the descriptions below, or access the spreadsheet directly here. Everything can be read in under 5 minutes.
