Another project for “User Interface Design I” involved creating a new form design for the Edmonton’s Food Banks volunteer sign-up form. The original design is not very user-friendly due to its excess amount of fields and inconsistent styling. This project involved streamlining the sign-up process and making the visual style better match the rest of the Food Banks website.
Before
The original form was 2 pages and somewhat bloated with fields (only partially shown below). Further, the colours don’t mix very well together, such as green text over a tan yellow background, which lacks visual accessibility.
After
I designed the form for mobile and tried to retain the colour styling of Edmonton’s Food Banks without sacrificing readability. These are just a few of the mockups and prototype which included drop-down menus, an interactive hamburger menu, Yes/No highlight toggles, and tooltip highlights.
